Description
GCSE Art and Design
Creative
Edexcel
The GCSE in Art and Design is designed to be a general course, encompassing art,
craft and design. Students are able to explore a range of 2 or 3 dimensional
approaches to their studies which may include ceramics, painting, printmaking,
digital media and textiles to name a few. Work produced for this qualification will
demonstrate the use of formal elements and creative skills, and give form to
thinking, feeling, observation, design and ideas. Students will show evidence of
trying to extend their own and others9 ways of seeing the world.
Over the two years students will produce two projects with varying themes that are
submitted as a portfolio of work (coursework element). There is also a third project
which is part of an externally set assignment which forms their exam project.
