Robert May’s School
Day to Day
School Bags and Lockers
All students should bring a plain backpack or bag to school every day which is large
enough to fit an A4 piece of paper. Students in Key Stage 3 should have a backpack or
bag with a laptop pocket for protecting their laptops.
Students are able to rent a locker at the school to store their belongings. This is optional
and will cost £10 per academic year. Students must provide their own padlock.
Lost Property
At Robert May’s School we do our best to reunite lost property with its rightful owner.
Please ensure all items are named. A message will be sent to students and Parents/
Carers when a named item is found. All items should be collected promptly as there is
limited storage and we are unable to hold items indefinitely. Any unnamed items will
appear on the lost property list. If an item on the list is recognised, the student should
come to the Student Reception either before school, during either break time or after
school to collect.
Mobile Phones
Robert May’s School is a mobile-free zone for students during the school day between
8.20am and 2.50pm/2.55pm. Students’ mobile phones must be switched off or on
silent mode and placed in bags or lockers during this time. Students may use their
phones before or after school. Any student who uses their mobile phone during the
school day will have it confiscated for the rest of the day. Students can collect it from the
Headteacher’s office at the end of the day. If a student has their mobile phone confiscated
for a third time in a term, Parents/Carers will be contacted and asked to collect it. If a
student needs to contact home urgently, they can go to Student Reception.
Please note, Robert May’s School does not accept liability for mobile phones that
are lost, stolen or damaged.

The school uses WisePay for online payments for the canteen, lockers, school trips,
equipment and resources. Parents/Carers will be sent login details once their child is
